Frequently Asked Questions

Questions? We’re always here to help.

  • The session is only 20 minutes long and provides beautiful and instant results. We offer mobile or at our location sessions where you can sit, lay, relax while your teeth get pearly white.

  • Teeth whitening is not permanent. People who expose their teeth to foods and beverages that cause staining or use tobacco may see the whiteness start to fade in as little as a few months. Those who avoid foods and beverages that stain may be able to wait 6 months to one year or longer before another whitening treatment or touch-up is needed. Whitening By Julie carries high quality maintenance and touch up products to help maintain your whiter teeth for longer.

  • Whether you have crowns, veneers, fillings or bridges the products and procedures we use will not cause any damage or discolor to your existing dental work. Pre-existing dental work cannot be colored, only replaced.

  • It is NOT common to have sensitivity using our products. However, teeth can be sensitive after a whitening session. That is perfectly normal, and usually caused by thinning enamel, cracked or possibly damaged teeth. If experienced the sensitivity should completely go away within 12-36 hours.

  • Ultimately, the results are largely dependent on the client’s natural teeth composition. Whitening By Julie has some of the highest quality teeth whitening machines and products in the market, much like the ones at your local dentist. The difference can’t be noticed so much in the quality or color, rather the cost. Dentists can charge anywhere from $400- $1000 for essentially the same or similar results. That said, we do recommend you visit your dentist regularly and as needed.

  • We are proud to say we use all-natural ingredients in all the before care, during and after care products that we carry. The ingredients will not cause any damage to your oral health if used as directed.

  • We do not recommend having a whitening session if you are pregnant without consulting your doctor. It is also not recommended for anyone under the age of 14. Anyone under 18 must have an adult or guardian present.

  • Yes. The bleaching gel may come in contact with your gums and may cause what the dental industry calls “blanching”. Blanching is when your gums turn whiter than they should be. Normally the blanching goes away within 30 minutes. Rubbing vitamin E will help relieve any discomfort.

  • The simple answer is as white as your genetics allow. We cannot go beyond your natural teeth color. All teeth whitening or bleaching products only remove surface stains that had occurred over time and due to certain habits or foods. What we can tell you is you will see instant results after the whitening session. The typical result is at least 3 shades lighter than what they were before doing the session.
